Luckily, professional custom application doesn’t compare to DIY tans at home! Leave your tan to our trained technicians for a more even and contoured result. No at home product on the market can mimic the customized color and application of a goGLOW, especially in those hard to reach areas. Most self-tanning products contain low-grade DHA, toxic parabens and mineral oils – which can result in that dreaded orange hue.
HOW DO I PREP BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?
Preparing your skin for your appointment is paramount in achieving flawless results. Before you come see us; we recommend following these three tips for even, beautiful application:
Exfoliate.
This should ideally be done 24-48 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells, allowing the spray to absorb evenly. That jar of sugar scrub or coconut oil in your shower? Skip that during your prep as the oils can remain on your skin and act as a barrier to the solution. We are obsessed with our EXFOLIATE mitt ($20) – the perfect prep tool for your goGLOW! The unique fabric of the mitt catches your dead skin cells and rolls them off your body without irritation, removing product residue and buildup.
Balance.
Stay away from traditional soaps and body washes containing sulfates before your goGLOW. We recommend a pH balancing, sulfate-free cleanser to balance your skin, allowing for a rich and even tan. goGLOW CLEANSE is a great option.
Rinse.
Hop in the shower for a quick warm water rinse prior to your appointment. The best way to arrive for your goGLOW is with clean, bare skin!
Pro Tip – Do not use any soaps in your shower on the day of your appointment. Schedule your massage, nail or wax appointments 3-4 days before your tan as these services will leave oil and product on your skin that can create a barrier to the solution, resulting in a less than perfect glow.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY APPOINTMENT?
Come see us in our bright, clean and welcoming spaces. Your appointment lasts 30 minutes and includes custom consultation, personalized application and time to answer any and all questions you have. Our girls will make you comfortable and guide you through every step of the process!
We encourage our female clients to wear whatever makes them most comfortable. Our professional and discreet all-female staff will consult on tan lines for vacations, dances or weddings. Our male clients should plan to tan in their boxers, briefs or swim trunks.
HOW DO I KEEP LONG LASTING COLOR AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?
A goGLOW can last anywhere from 5-10 days, depending on the individual’s preparation, their own skin exfoliation cycle and the types of products used to maintain the tan. goGLOW specialists provide every client a skin analysis and specific recommendations for a long lasting glow.
Bring loose, dark clothing (sweat pants, big t-shirt and flip flops) to change into after your appointment. Avoid sweating and having bare skin exposed to inclement weather. If it is raining or snowing, pack an umbrella, raincoat and close-toe shoes! Book a goGLOW On The Go! and have us come to you in the comfort of your own home.
Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using goGLOW HYDRATE whipped body butter twice daily. Avoid hot yoga classes, saunas and soaks for the first 5-7 days following your glow.
IF SOME PRODUCTS CAN AFFECT MY COLOR – WHAT SHOULD I USE?
We recommend a sulfate free, paraben free, soap free cleanser to use in your shower. The more hydrated your skin is, the more vibrant your color will stay; so avoid any moisturizers with mineral oils, alcohol or alpha-hydroxy acids.
And hold onto your hats friends because we have launched our own line of sunless safe products! This will include a sunless-safe pH balancing cleanser, an argan oil whipped body butter for daily hydrating, a gradual tan extending moisturizer and a touch up self-tanning mist for delicate areas that fade faster like our face, hands and decolletage.
