The Insider’s Guide to Your Best goGLOW Ever
Here’s the deal… Everyone thinks they know how to get the best spray tan results, and makes videos, blogs and texts their friends “do this, don’t do this”….
We are here to remind you, heed your advice from someone who is trust worthy. *Ahem*.
Lauryn Bosstick from ‘The Skinny Confidential’ has been made social media famous for her insider tips and beauty tricks, and has even made her own skincare and product line from her sprouted fame. And don’t get us wrong, we love her for it – but she still goes to a Mystic Tan booth. Yes, you heard that correctly.
Not all spray tans are created equal, and thank goodness. Not all skin types and skin tones are created equal, either!
At goGLOW however, we have become notorious for our extensive education on how to prepare and maintain your skin to achieve the best results in tanning. It all starts with your skin prep and maintenance, and we have extensive experience and knowledge in this genre as it is our life blood, sweat and tears!
Beyond our ‘How To Prepare’ page, here are a few other secrets we are ready to share with you to ensure you get the most out of your goGLOW experience!
Here are the basics….
- Use goGLOW HYDRATE on a regular basis. This stuff is magic. If you don’t already have this, you’re missing out. MAJORLY. So start here. The natural plant-based nut and seed oils packed with omega fatty acids heal the skin and create a hydrated foundation for makeup and tanning products to absorb into the skin. Use this everyday. If you’re using a body or face lotion that contains mineral oil or petroleum, toss it.
- Drink tons of water, and get a humidifier running in your bedroom. Fill that bad boy up every single night so that it maximizes the amount of moisture in the air while you sleep. Our skin loses water while we sleep so this will prevent that from occurring.
- Cool it on the showers. Literally and figuratively. If you can skip a shower here and there, and when you do shower, use cooler temperature water – you will thank us later.
- Use goGLOW CLEANSE every single time you shower, all over your body. This has hyaluronic acid so that helps your skin retain moisture.
Now here are the pro-level tips…
- The night before your appointment, take a long warm (not scalding hot) shower and let your skin soften up. Wait until your skin has softened in the shower for 5+ minutes, and then use the goGLOW EXFOLIATE tool all over your body. Press decently hard with the tool so that you can see little flecks of skin roll away. Rinse the mitt off, and repeat on each section of your body until no more flecks of skin are visible on the mitt. After this shower, use goGLOW HYDRATE!
- Careful with your deodorant applications pre-goGLOW. Meticulously apply it in the very middle of your armpit and don’t over do it, i.e. don’t spread it all over your bicep and inner arm. This will allow the tan to absorb into the skin beautifully around the armpit area. We think using a natural, aluminum-free deodorant also helps tremendously!
- Apply goGLOW HYDRATE all over your face and body before you leave the house to come to your appointment! HYDRATE was formulated BY goGLOW, FOR goGLOWs, so this is the only lotion that will not block oxygen from your skin cells and not leave a heavy ‘film’ on the skin before your service. If you are using another lotion that is ‘organic, plant based etc.’ it will not, I repeat – will not work the same and have the same effect.
- Apply goGLOW HYDRATE lotion all over to your face and body RIGHT AFTER your very first rinse, post-spray tan. Yes, right after the first rinse. Trust us. Even with a rapid tan! This product is magic – and cannot be substituted by a different lotion in this instance. If you are using a different lotion after your shower, your tan will stop developing and your color may be underdeveloped and fade much quicker.
We hope you take advantage of these tips and tricks. We have held out on sharing these details with the world but we know you’re all worth it!
